Im attempting to retopogize via creating a zsphere > topology > select topo > edit topo
However when i get to “select topo” and select my model i get an error saying:
“Please select a mesh with less than 15,000 points or polygons. operation canceled”
Anyone know how to get round this, not sure if its relevant but model is approx 3mil polys atm.
What am i missing here?

save your self a lot of time and headache, use the QRemesher in zbrush
or my second guess is set the subd slider under 15,000polys and delete high under tool>geometry
but im not sure why you would need to when your retopo-ing.
my third guess is try tool>convert to a Polymesh3D Then try retoping
thanks for the advice. i ended up just appending a zsphere to the model rather than visa-vera. that seemed to bypass the issue. never used the Qremesher. have to admit iv never even noticed it. ill take a look.

i did not test on what you was saying earlier but i did see the error you was referring to.
steps 1,2,3 will fixs it.
