replicating Igor Zanic's bifrost Bifrost 2017 - RND 01 video

#1

I’m trying for the life of me to get the moving domain setup that he shows in this video working, and I haven’t had much luck.

I was curious if anyone else had given this a go? I’ve tried it several times, and I can’t get anything close to what he is showing.

At the end of the video, there is a section showing a boat traveling over large distances by using a moving domain. I have set this up exactly like I think he has it, but my fluid comes out of the front moving emitter and spills out into the container, his fluid remains perfectly still on emission and I can’t figure out how he did it…

here’s a link for the video

Hi Scott,

You could ask me

There is one thing that you need to do, for front emiter that emit everyframe, and container you need to disable inherit velocity, so to do that:

  • for container and emition geo, create emptyColorSet
  • rename to bifrostVelocity
  • Apply black color to that bifrostVelocity color set.

Run simulation

Hope this help.
Igor

oh man, I got sidetracked on some other projects for a while, and completely forgot I even posted this. Thanks so much for the tips, I’ll give it a shot and report back!

I am creating bifrost moving simulation.
but my particles are flowing out from the container. dont know where i am doing wrong.

i am also attach jpeg to know my bifrost emitter and container setup.

Many Thanks

I’m having the same problem as pushkardeshpandey: my water goes flying out of the container even though I have set it to be a collider. This seems to happen when I animate everything moving forward.
I made a new empty color set for my container and emitter cubes, named it bifrostVelocity and set the value and intensity to 0.

I haven’t added the smaller, continuous emitter at the front yet.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance, this is really hard for me.
