renderman orthographic projection

#1

hi,

i was wondering if anyone knows how i can control the screen window when rendering in orthographic projection. using “ScreenWindow” seems to only be able to “zoom in”, i’d like to “zoom out”.

thanks,

If you want a shift you cam add an offset to ScreenWindow so that it isn’t centred on zero. This should work for perspective cameras too to give you view camera parallax compensation for example eg.

ScreenWindow Xmin+Xoffset Xmax+Xoffset Ymin+Yoffset Ymax+Yoffset

Giving you for example:

Original: ScreenWindow -1 1 -0.76 0.76 (horizontal fit 1.31 aspect ratio)
Shifted: ScreenWindow -1 1 0.24 1.76 (same camera shifted up by 1 unit)

The RenderMan Companion and Advanced RenderMan both have sections describing this.
If you want to do this with MTOR just add this to a RIB box where it’s name starts with “frame”.
