Renderman Meshlight Glow/Bloom effect


While I know there is agreat plugin for after effects called saber, I’d like to figure out how to make a lightsaber in maya renderman. I have renderman 22.2.

As far I’ve seen two options, make a cylinder and apply a mesh light or use a PxrCylinderLight.

What i cant’t figure out is how to add that characteristic white core, while the light remains colored.
And make the light glow with that bloom effect, through a shader without having to use a volume.

A fresnell falloff applied to the light will do the trick !
