Render Pass Having Art Effects

#1

Hi,
I have these render passes looking like a noisy background in photoshop.
I’m rendering in Maya 2012 with mental ray.
I tried rendering as an EXR and HDR.
The images have these shiny color noise on them.
Can someone help, plsssss!

Thanks

Wish I could see the image, but if you’re experiencing noise problems the image format won’t get rid of it. Sounds like a sampling issue, maybe you also have low glossy sample values in your materials.

Hi,
I’ve attached an image. I’m not sure if this is a sampling issue, cos if i render the image, it fine. This happens when I batch render. Too grainy and noisy

I’ve never seen something like this before. Definitely not a sampling issue. Did you Batch Bake the textures or something?

#5

Me too. Haven’t see this before. In fact it happend in one of my other project. I thought that was because the file was big and i made these small simple file and it’s even worse.
I tried a different computer thinking maybe my hardware issue - VGA, and it’s still the same thing.
I don’t know. I’m use IBL and a directional light for defuse.

I just can’t figure it out, is it possible to send a mb or ma file? I’m curious to see if it’s really a hardware problem. I doubt it though

Hi,
This is too starnge to me.
I have uploaded the file here: http://www.expowonders.com/maya/
you can see the file sitting there. It’s called “sPACEbOOTH.rar”

I’m trying to figure out part of the problem. When I turn off “[ ] Enable Color Management” in the Render settings, the noise will disappear and it will render as normal.

Sorry, I was busy with some school projects. Anyway I did a test render and everything seems fine. I’ll do a batch render to see if everything is ok. https://www.flickr.com/photos/136257819@N03/

I did change it back to exr format, I took off default lighting since you already had a lighting source in the scene and i made sure the raytracing shadows/reflection/refraction limit were the same as your final gather tracing attributes. (Also if you're going to use 4x32 float in your framebuffer you're forced to use only exr and Maya IFF image formats)

Here's the batch render test. There's no weird psychedelic patterns like the previous render you posted, but the color information is different though.

Anyway, I’ll send you the file and you can test out if the problem occurs again. http://www.mediafire.com/download/929w2jza98tawtr/sPACEbOOTH.zip

Also, I found this python script useful, just incase your batch render acts up again.
