render particles over strokes



I am doing a sofware render with blobby surface particles to simulate a fountain and in the background i have paint effects grass, flowers and trees. For some reason the z-depth isn’t reading the particles as objects and the strokes are rendering over them. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Paint FX is a post effect thus, it’s going to go on top of whatever is in your scene. You can convert it to polygons and that should fix the problem. Although if you have a lot of strokes in your scene, you can get bogged down real quick with geo. You can always render out the Paint FX and stick it on an image plane behind the particles as long as you don’t need them to interact with each other.
