Did you read either the ARC links or the Kreutz article that danielh68 posted? I ask because it seems that you'd already made up your mind about this topic having only read one side of the story.
I don’t think either side can really prove that they are correct, so I suppose it’s down to who you feel presents the more convincing case.
Personally, I tend to have more faith in those who have demonstrated that they understand and are capable of using realist painting techniques than those who, to the best of my knowledge, have not.
Would you take your car to a mechanic who has fixed lots of cars, or to the guy who has read lots of books on fixing cars?
