Reflections/Shadows Problem


Hi, I’m relatively new to Maya(2011), I’ve learned only basic stuff and I’m yet to make a high-detail model.

I recently finished a sword model using just polygon cubes primitives and shaping them, only making half of the sword (to make it easier), deleting non-visible faces, then mirroring it, sadly, after applying a Blinn material to the blade, it shows incorrect reflections and shading as shown here…


(Yes, It’s supposed to have a low poly count)
I made sure all Vertices/Border edges are connected, tried inverting normals, but I still can’t fix this problem, any way I can fix it?
