RED L.A. User Group Meeting 03/15

After months of looking for an appropriate venue the RED L.A. user group will hold the first meeting at Kappa Studios in Burbank on Saturday March 15th.

This will be a great opportunity for all RED owners and operators to meet, exchange ideas and help shape the RED LAUG. The event will be held at a post facility so there will be some good networking possibilities with producers and directors who are interested in using RED in upcoming projects.

Several RED owners will bring their gear in for those who have not had a chance to see RED ONE up close.

Assimilate will be doing demos of the Scratch workflow, Mark Pedersen of OffHollywood Studios will be showing some exciting new tools, and Kappa will demo Avid DS DI and FCPRO workflows.

Best of luck with the UG. The RED has turned out to be one of the most impressive pieces of equipment I’ve dealt with.

I tend to agree with you JDex. The image quality is outstanding. The post production workflow is a little clumsy at this time but those things will improve with time.

In fact one of the attendees of the RED LAUG meeting will show some proprietary workflow tools they have developed.
