Red eye tool doing a bad job, is there another way ?

#1

hi again,

i have couple of photos with red eye which i want to fix.

i tried to use the red eye tool which i was told is doing decent job , but i think the result is terrible , its look like i took some brush tool and painted with black .

even adjust the red eye tool setting to 50% and 50% is not doing well.

anyone can suggest a better way to adjust it .

Fibola, there are a ton of tutorials on the web that cover manually removing red-eye. Here’s a few.

In Photoshop, you can select around the red parts (using the lasso tool), now selecting all the parts at the same time on both eyes (you want them selected all at the same time because otherwise you won’t get them to look the same) go up to your hue/saturation and tweek the settings until you see what you like or at least are closer, you can also use the color changer to adjust the color. If these changes make things too bright or dark use your brightness and contrast to repair this. ~If this doesn’t work for you, you could also try using the clone tool, get in real close and copy any good parts over to the red, but the first suggestion, in combination (sometimes back and forth multiple times) usually works for me. Good luck, Gina
