recreate level uvs

Hi all
I seem to be having trouble with recreate level uvs. I’m working with an organic creature base level 6924 polys. When I subdivide it I lose my uvs. I ‘recreate level uvs’ and on level 2 (14000 polys) it is fast and I have my uvs. If I subdivide up to level 3, the recreate uvs command hangs and my laptop screams. Is this just a limitation of my 32bit xp machine? I won’t be able to export a displacement without UVs on the highest level:(

-On a side note I tried a very simple object from Maya and subdivided to 4 million polys and the recreate uvs worked! Perhaps I have too many tri’s or ngons in the creature.

EDIT**

Cleaned up ngons and found a few non-planars…works fine now. LESSON: model properly for MB to work nicely:)
