It depends on the workload you’ll be throwing at it.

For heavy heavy loads I’d recommend you get the fastest/ most memory packed card in your price range, however if the workload consists mainly of low-poly modeling and 2D work for the most part, with the exception of some high-polygon sculpting in Mudbox, Then I’d recommend you perhaps look into the latest Nvidia series, the GTX2x cards are pretty good in the performance department (I’m currently running a GTX260 216core 896MB and it’s plenty good for all my 3D (High and low) polygon needs, plus it’s alot cheaper than the Quadro series)…

That is, if your not suffering from the terrible Maya/ Mudbox support of standard desktop cards, If you have major issues with this then I’d recommend the Quadro over anything (Also the FireGL series seems to be making a come back).

well, as you said i work with some low poly and sculp with hi poly, but my main issue is when working with both very hi poly culpting and mostly when i try to design a whole scene. (even with low poly replacment when animating).
I have problems with most of my workflow as a result of that.
is quadro nessessery? or should i try a more “finnancial”
solution?
