I’m a Max user, and never used Realflow before. Had it for a while but the world got in the way, and I haven’t had a chance to learn it. And no, my question isn’t about HOW to do something, but if what I want can be done. Basically, I want to set up a pretty good amount of water to come straight down on a sphere, splash out and flare at the bottom, if that makes any sense. Then I want to get rid of the sphere. You see, what I want is just the shape of the liquid. I want to use it to create something else rather than liquid. Is that possible to do? Getting rid of the sphere and texturing it the way I want in Max? If it is I want to use Realflow for it. In the past, I’d have built the shape I wanted and then dropped cloth over it. But the cloth has no real thickness and I need something that has both thickness and a more organic flow. And with droplets splattering off.
Realflow question
Yes, realflow can do this. easily to. make a sphere inside realflow, dump water on it. and then mesh the particles with a realflow mesh. then import said mesh into max. there’s no need to even import the sphere from realflow if you don’t want it. then texture the water mesh.
You should read the manual it gives a lot of information or do a tutorial, such things are pretty basic.
Thanks. It’s always a bit intimidating when you jump into brand new software you don’t know anything about. And being both old and disabled, it’s a bit harder for me to learn new stuff. But it seemed to me that Realflow provided a lot of solutions for me.
