Reading Loomis books - help please

Hey guys :slight_smile:

Right now i am reading this book : Figure drawing for all it worth by Andrew loomis

I am having problems with understanding this.Take a look at the image :

I know how to scale same figures(closer or further away from camera) that are placed on single plane .But how to do it when the figures are on diferent planes like in the picture?

Only explanation given for that is the picture…

It is probably very simple,but i am total 2d beginner.So guys please help out :slight_smile:

Hello Stefan.

He’s basically used the same “measuring line” for the figures in the image. Doesn’t really matter if they’re on a different plane. You put the figures on different planes by raising and lowering the measuring line. Hope this explains it.
