Job Description: Create 3D animation using 3D Studio Max or Alias Wavefront Maya; animate realistic, technically and physically accurate, modern-day military scenarios for concept of operations (CONOPS) presentations; have accountability for delivering these projects on time and within agreed upon budgets.
Required Skills: Minimum 3 years experience using 3D Studio Max or Alias Wavefront Maya in both 3D animation and 3D polygonal modeling with texturing on PC platforms. Minimum 80 hours compositing experience using Discreet Combustion or Adobe After Effects. Must have excellent written and verbal communication ability, take directions from team leadership and work well in a team environment. Must have good organizational skills, be able to multi-task, keep detailed records and complete complex animation and modeling tasks on schedule and within project budget. The candidate absolutely must possess and immediately demonstrate 1) Very strong 3D animation capabilities and 2) Strong 3D polygonal modeling and texturing capabilities. Candidates must provide demo reels of past 3D animation work to be considered. At a minimum, will need to have an Interim Secret clearance to start to work.
Desired Skills: Experience in realistic and technically accurate 3D animation of real, modern-day military weapon systems and vehicles including ships, ground vehicles and aircraft considered an extreme plus. 3D character animation abilities considered a plus. MAXScript or MEL Scripting experience a strong plus. Dreamscape and Afterburn plugin experience is a plus. Knowledge of the following considered a plus: Adobe Premiere; PTC Pro-Engineer CAD software.
Required Education(including Major): AA, BS or Professional Degree. Experience can substitute for education in 3D Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Engineering, Math, Applied Physics.
