randomize nHair curl/noise

Hi,
is there some way of randomizing a hairsystem’s displacement-curl/noise effect? With the default settings it looks the same for every clump, makes for a very unrealistic look.
There’s a curl override in the per follicle settings but it doesn’t seem to have any effect
