RAM for socket 2011 motherboard?

#1

I want to build a new PC with 64 GB of RAM and was looking at i7-4930k and ASUS P9X79 family. However, the P9X79 memory support list doesn’t seem to have any 8GB RAM listed (mostly multiple 2/4GB). Is it too new? Will there be more memory released for it anytime soon?

If in case I need to go with the older 1150 socket i7 4770k, which ASUS motherboard would be stable and reliable with 8 memory slots?

You don’t need to worry about the qualified vendor list. It’s just a list of RAM that was tested, they can’t test all of the available products. Any decent RAM brand and model will be just fine.

More important than the QVL is the voltage of the RAM. There are plenty of 4x8 kits and 8x8 kits out there to choose from.

(don’t know of any shops in Thailand)

CHECK YOUR CPU COOLER DIMENSIONS!
If you are using Noctua you should probaly go for low dimensions RAM moduls, as they are fited under the cooler.
I hope I did not make confuse with this advice.

/egz>>> intel DX79TO+NOCTUA=low hight ram modules/
