Races of Middle Earth - character - Ward

Hi Guys,

This is my first thread and my first post as well, so let’s celebrate.
What else should I say: This is a very interesting challenge and very popular as well and I can’t resist to do something.
I hope I’m not to late. :slight_smile:

I have a couple of ideas in my mind about a painfully tortured troll-like creature who were mainly used to mine rocks or mitril by the orks. These unlucky creatures were kept in their childhood and were tortured all in their lives. The orcs have changed their body structure (broke their bones and so on) to form a creature what can work harder. Orcs kept them in constant pain as well to achieve a brain damage and make them more controlable.

So after this teaser the concepts are coming soon.

huhh, finally I had a couple of minutes this morning to draw some sketches. I had to find an other idea, because as I saw trolls or any other Tolkien characters are not allowed.

So here is now the Raap-tOrc race. Much faster than the original orcs, and more powerful as well.

More concepts soon.

Actualy I’m not really satisfied with this idea, so I’m going to draw a couple of other pics. So pictures are coming soon.
I’m thinking about a same creature with little goblins instead of the orc, but i don’t know yet.

Ward I must say that I’m interested on your work since I started doing 3d 2 years ago… And I’m happy to be here to see how this character developpes…

I’m not sure about one thing… Is the Orc riding the Raptor or is him part of the raptor himself? If it’s the second one, I think it’d be more appropiate to make the rapt-Orc with only the orc head…
But it’s just my opinion.

Faraguay: Thanks your words. That is great you are interested in my works, many thanks. (You can see some new stuff on my site now :)) (this was the place of an adv. :))

So, yes, the Orc is the part of the raptor, probably the concept pic wasn’t too clear. probably I shouldn’t have drawn that cloth stuff there. I thought if I just draw one head than this looks like a centaur.

Anyway, your concept is great. Reminds me a Brom art. Good work. I’m anxious to see the model! :))

Now I understand better… you’re right about the raptor with only the orc head will look like some kind of centaur… whatever you choose I’m sure it’s going to be great (I know, because I’ve just seen your comercial demo and it’s great).

Oh, and I love Brom’s artwork. It’s just incredible! I supose I have some inspiration from him (and Giger) always.

Oh, I like Brom very much as well. He is an absolute talented (probably too talented or mentally damaged - if I say this) artist.

Here is the background to the concept: These little creatures (what you probably almost can’t see on the pic) are the most wanted race of Middle Earth. They are the Nlaahon thieves. They steal everything what they can, no matter they can use it or not.
No matter how huge is the stuff, or how unless. Once they stole Saruman’s magic wand and Palantir and since then their life have become terrible :slight_smile:

Living on a raptor like creature traveling all time and carry all the stuff what they have already stollen. Usually a whole family is living on this living machines, what they call “Krikkons”.

I try to post a better quality concept soon.

Hehehe. I love the idea of the little thieves living as a modelic family in that pile of stolen useless stuff… Riding a raptor. COOL!!! :cool:
