Update. Nearly finished…added DOF, cleaned up the Forground, made shadowcorrections and added some details…

#144

I add it with the blur tool in photoshop…going from the right to the left and down with less and less and less… opacity. The top-layer stays sharp. And the things that are very far away i blur again…thats it.
Hope this helps a bit dude:wavey:

#145

SWEET! :xtreme: :scream: Looking fantaastic Tommy.

#146

Much better! Now you just need to add a bit of that green glow on the forground critters. Not much because they’re in the sunlight more than the one in the background. Maybe just on the areas closest to the power stone (or whatever you call that).

The plants you have growing around the rocks … I forget what they’re called (I call them corndogs) … I think they grow primarily around water sources. You should probably change them so they’re not identifiable as ‘corndogs’.

And lastly, I think you should add a touch of that blue from the background rocks into the shadow areas of the foreground rocks. Chances are that the rocks are of the same type and should reflect the light simularly. On the top peaks of the background rocks they should reflect the orangish color of the foreground ones. Does that make sense?

I dunno … I’m working too much lately I don’t make sense to myself anymore.

Tommy Lee,

Amazing simply amazing, that image looks so cool.

I have only one major crit, you seem to have overlooked the other 200 frames of animation where they march across the screen. (hehe…)

Very, very cool! You can definately feel some of your “new school” tattoo influences in your work! I really like your style a lot. I’m working in the game industry right now and am considering moving towards the tattoo industry myself… I know this is a CG forum, but do you have any examples of your skin/ink work on the web to check out?
You definately inspire me to continue in the cg realm myself once I get going; thanks! Maybe I’ll take a break from some of the flash I’m working on to join in the 3d challenge

#152

Wow… Respekt? RESPEKT!

Tommy you need to give up the tatoos they get you nowhere, you need to dedicate your whole life to the challenges… because thats where all the fun is at!:buttrock:

#158

LOL Poly… I would give up tattoos if somebody gives me job in the industry… hehe.

Tom

#159

Lol CG!
Ya Pics are very nice. I have to say ya really learn fast. Ya skillz went higher from pic to pic. I will take one Pic and overpaint it to show ya what to improve, because its hard for me to explain in english technically. I´ll send ya that next week, because right now I´ve no time.

Laterz buddy and keep working

Tommy Lee

wohooooo! looking great Tommy, as expected!

I like how you’re managing the composition and the mood.

Only one thing. There seems to be a contrast between the creatures on the right and the background and the other creatures. Maybe this is because of the blur only, but it looks like if both parts had been done with different techniques, the creatures don’t fit perfectly into the background or vice-versa.

Just a thought from a color-blind 2D newbie, so better pay no attention to that!
