hey, hey. Thank ya both. I’ll go with my style for a while & try and blend the enviroment a to match. Thanks for the support.
I started creation of a larger/stronger Slacken. Very Wip, but here it tis anyway.

Races of Middle Earth - Character - Slacker
It´s the Slacker-Slacken… Chief of the specimen…great:thumbsup: … Like this one more then the first…
Cheerz:beer:

Oh yeah thats better. Better feel to it. Reminds me of older Zelda images. I’m a big Zelda fan. My only crit is why didn’t you close some of those lines? I think you should try it dude.
And another update. I closed a few lines & added some stuff - like a face. Still no background… Maybe I’ll start a girl slacken next… Lot of time left…

I think ya should give him a blindfold(Spelling?) then shades…
Anyway this turns out great,… and hope to see the Lady slacken soon.

Laterz
Tom
Thanks! Ya, I know the shades got to go… Was trying for a thin blindfold. Didn’t come out like I wanted.
CgFreak: the line - I use Illustrator 10 - the paintbrush tool & a wacom give you these lines. For thiner lines, have to use the pencil tool.
Tommy Lee: me too, me too…
Well, I figured I try something completely different. Since I’ve never really used Painter, I figure I’d give it a go. Very wip, and rushed, but an attempt none the least…

and I’m back… My brains been very distracted here lately. I got a little off subject and started creating this creature below. Big furry thing, with a human head grafted inside his mouth area…

and, in case your wondering, above is the work of Paint Shop Pro & the smudge tool… here’s a closeup of the human head.
Close Up Of Mouth Area
will we see more of this strange beast??? probably not.
Looks like your onto something, what, I don’t know but it looks cool.
But smudge tool=Evil in my opinion
Keep it up:thumbsup:
You got plenty of time to develop this one Slacker. Nice start. As for the smudge tool, I see nothing wrong with it. It depends on what kind of painter you are. Those that don’t use it, I would think paint more like Degas, and those that do, probably paint more like David. I’m some where in between. I use it at times, the same way I’d use a brush to spread out oil paint thinly over a another dried layer.
hey thanks guys. I like the smudge, but I have a hard time getting anything passed a cool look to come out of it. It’s kind of like a fun filter. Maybe in a couple of years I’ll have the painting skills to combine with it… :arteest:
Anyways, back on track, I did start making a girl slacken today… here’s the beginings. hopefully more updates soon.

More updates… Still got to fix some stuff, but the final composition will probably involve these three. cheerz.

Yeah man!!!
This comes along really great…totally unique chars. Fit well together. ![]()

Tom
thank ya Tommy.
Another update… I still need to make the blindfolds look less like shades, lighten around the girl’s creature, and learn how to paint backgrounds. c&c welcome.

I also have to say that the 2nd one is better. Some details, tweakings and ya done. Great piece man.

Yep, i think the snowy landscape is better too. Your characters are very stylized, neat shapes, and the grassy environment don´t suit them. But the look too naked for that cold climate…
The little pets are great ![]()
Thank you Tom & Pancreas. Your right about the clothes… I’ll get back to work and see what I can come up with. This has been a great challenge.
