Races of Middle Earth - character - Leigh

Long skirt rocks!(your entire model too:buttrock: ) but I’m still not satisfied with the proportions… if you’re sure about the body, I’d say the head is too big. I’m not saying that just to crit, but because it bugs me and I don’t appreciate your model as much as I should.

#143

Yep, Skirt to the floor like Matrix, all ripped up so you can still see the Boots.

#144

Skirt long and tattered.

The head may look big cause the mouth is open, either that or reduce it by 5%… Looks awesome, later!

#145

Okies, here is the skirt long!

m@. - you seriously think the heads too big?
:surprised Are you sure it’s not the size of the helmet that’s putting you off?

I’d bring the saturation back a bit on the clothes, and match the leather of the shoes to that of the belt (that is some sort of fashion rule, no?). Will that armour around the waist facilitate riding?

Probably not! LOL!

I’m going to leave saturation issues to when I actually start painting textures

Okay, here is another pic. This time, I’ve made the waist armour sit higher. Comments? I think this one actually looks better…

really nice so far, leigh
about the skirt, though. elves in the movies had that really nice, antique look, with the embroidered layered skirts. even the warriors did.
a good reference is the FOTR extended edition, one of the cd’s has loads of the concept art. If you have it, have a look at the concepts for gil-galads army.
i’ve also attached a really quick, rough sketch-over of your elf skirts in photoshop to show you what i mean.

(edit: doesn’t always seem to display, but its there if you copy/paste the link)

#149

That’s a great idea, Anthony
I actually originally got the idea for the armour from Gil-galads army anyway, just didn’t really look at the bottom halves of their bodies :stuck_out_tongue:
Going to do that now

#150

less purple go for a navy blue on the cloth… it will look beter

#151

Great job leigh…I keep repeating myself…hmm…hehe

I do think the armor around the waist would restrict movement though wouldn’t it…maybe not…very good job…keep it up:thumbsup:

#152

:D:D

Righto, played around with the blues a bit… and added some more layers of skirt… more to come…

Remi, yeah I know, but ssshhhhhh don’t tell anyone

#154

the blue is to light i was thinking a more black-blue… its dead isnt it?

#155

Hmmm… I rather like that, TimothyD :D:D
I also prefer those sort of colours, in a way they suit the elves a little more since they are a little more “arty” - particularly that aqua blue…

Mangled Poly - yeah, it is dead, and when I do the actual textures, there will be many tones in it, but I want to avoid using very dark colours because it isn’t an evil character.

#156

Okay, which one?

#157

Maybe this is a stupid question, but after you start ‘wraithifying’ it and making everything look ancient and tattered. . . . wont the first one start to look like the second one anyway?

#158

Yeah, probably LOL

Perhaps I just wraithify the entire thing! :D:D

well, you know me… I gotta go with the one n the left just cause of the Blow Up Doll mouth…but I like the right one color wise. = )

very awesome work!! Gonna be realy cool to see those magic leigh textures on it!

#161

the desaturated side!

That Xray is sweet. That a LW thing?

#162

I like the right one better, colour-wise at least. The blue-grey one.
