Nice looking sketches. I was just wondering how big the file size is? It took me a while to load and I have broadband. Maybe you could shrink them down just in case others are having the smae problem.

Good stuff.
Like the scetches a lot.
AI also c you have used the South African flag in your Avatar, aint I right?
Thanks guys, I apologize for the large file, I’ll
see if I can sort it out.
I’ll post more images later today.
Iguiniz: Yup, that’s our flag. It’s a design I did back in '92 for a comic book character I created.
Thanks again,
Hennie

Here’s the description:

The Drendath are gentle creatures
that can be found in the southern
regions of Gondor.
They’re mainly used by humans
to carry heavy loads over long
distances.
Their thick hide and hard shells
allow them to withstand enemy
attacks, so they can continue to
navigate through a battlefield
unhindered.
They possess enough intelligence to
make use of tools, such as walking
aids, yet they can not speak…
The Drendath are vegetarians.
They are not territorial creatures
and they roam freely among their
kind.
Their shells are host to an array
of small creatures, that feed off the
parasites that reside within.

Hmm … it’s lost some of the expressiveness and craggy surface textures that you had going on in the concept sketches. The face looks more developed than the arms and legs also. Add more texture and I think it’ll come back to life.
I also like the tortoise appearance in the bottom two sketches of concept_02.jpg Right now he looks like too much mass to be practical as a pack mule. He doesn’t seem to be carrying much for his size.
Thanks for all the comments…
To be honest, my time’s a bit
limited at the moment…I’ll try
and make some of the changes
you mentioned, Kirt.
Thanks again!

Well, that’s it, looks like the deadline’s here!
Whish I had time to craft the painting a bit more,
but hey, may the best creature win!
Good luck all!
