The bogger

I might do more work to it but i’m unsure.
Many of tolkein’s creatures are based on a couple of physics
-
Social Intelligent creatures are 95% Humanoid(shelob is the only one i can think of that isn’t humanoid that talks, ents are bit humanoid in structure).
-
95% Creatures are based on creatures/animals pre-existing
in earth, humoinds, spiders, aquatics, lizard/dinosaurs(one of the only ones i can think of is the balrog which is “demonic” in theory)
So, When I started designing my creature, I wanted to stray from the obvice choice of creature making, which is, “SUPER MONSTER”. Which if anyone knows my work they know I can do. Instead of that path i wanted to choose a character that would have the chance to help countinue the tolkien stories with a character that seemed to have alot of character to him, but as many of tolkien’s characters… you can’t tell if this character is nice or naughty. I think the horns give him a evil feeling, but his pipe gives him more of homely feeling.
The character lives in dense bogs(treeless swamps). He belongs to a species of other boggers, but they don’t really take fondly to social gathering. They get agrivated if they are in contact with the same person for too long. They write books, which usually make no sense, to common folk. They speak fluently in most all middle-earthean tongue from reading books and scriptures. They’re known also for coming out of their bogs and taking long hikes through different kingdoms, buying and selling books, then returning to their homes.
They are alot more skilled at fighting than they appear. They usually fight passively using set traps and projectal weapons if needed(spears).
Boggers seem to never sleep and often become slight insane over time because of this, and also because of some bog gases cause hypnotic effects.
Once a year they have a gathering where they mate quickly and move on. There is a 5 to 1 male to female ratio, so many boggers don’t even bother with going.
— Hope you like my bogger, I don’t know how much more i’ll be doing on this piece. I did in a 2 sittings peroid in one day. I had to stop for italian food. I have a .wpe file that will show the whole process of my drawing if you have the program OPENCANVAS( http://home.attbi.com/~citizen_cow/oC11b71.exe ). I can upload it if anyone wants to see. Oh yah, wish me luck, this is my first time!
