Awesome:thumbsup: I just threw up my dinner!
Races of Middle Earth - character - Bruzun
Yo,
God gave me free time this morning and here’s the result. Worked on the dead bodies. Not finished yet, but wish to have your comments and opinions. The background is almost finished, and I like to hear you saying what you think.
Things I DIDN’T work yet (but I will): head, left side of the main character, body laid on the left corner of the image (the unfortuned guy that lost his head, hehe).
Comments and critics really aprecciated.

btw,
Gamoron
hope you didn’t eat yet
cheers bud

Now there is a really perfect contrast in it. The colors from the front to the distance are perfectly chosen. Man thats a masterpiece. Maybei am a bit grimy but I love gore and splatter. :bounce:

I was sick again!![]()
Loving it Bruzun. Keeps getting better and better. Nice and bloody, looks like he didn’t show any mercy on those orcs. My only crit now though is that I think you need to do a little more work on his bottom legs, especially his left. You don’t seem to have done as much work i that area.
Awesome work!:bounce:
Hello gamoron, nice to see you getting sick again, hehehe
Hope you like beer, it’s healthy

Here’s an update… changed the legs… put boots (ok, it’s a snow man, but don’t be cruel, ice ‘burns’, let’s give him shoes, hehe)
Redo the left arm, but still not complete,
Changed the mountains so as to reach a higher level in realism… .dunno if it works…
Loving to paint it
C&C, please

Nice work man I dig it
Lots of good entries this month, don’t really know how many participants there been the last challenges but it’s nice to see!
Try to work on the left arm some more since it have a tendency to blend with the background, some details on the hand may do the trick.
Keep it up

Hello Royal.
Thanks for replying
I’ll work on the left arm, don’t worry. Have to change hand’s size also.
Thanks
btw,
Could somebody please give me a hand with lights? I do not have any ideas for lightning this scene. Ice scenes is very hard for me to light. I have never see how ice ‘works’ with light. I’ve never see Ice indeed. :annoyed:
Paint overs really apreciatted
If somebody could help with suggestions, regards in advance.
Thanks
not update
a big change
please, comapre and tell what you think about this new sky and the old one.
Tell me the truth ok?

Wow, really impressive. The amount of detail is fantastic. How big is the original image?
I think I prefer the old sky, now it looks too empty. Although I like the idea of darkening that part, I think it makes sense, so you could try a mixture of both skies…
the new sky has so little detail on the dark zone thet right now there’s too much contrast.
Looking very impressive anyway. Keep drawing.

Thanks Frinsklen
I changed the sky… misture of the both, darker one…
minor updates in other parts of the main character… not finished… but very very close to
Where’s everybody? I’m neding some critiscs here…
:annoyed:
the size of the main picture is 2952 x 4134 pixels

hey bruzun, hard to pick between 1 & 2’s background, but I don’t really care for 3’s that much. I think it lost it’s cold look. I do like the new blood on the hands & axe though. Your doing great, I know you can make it work. ![]()
I’m going to say that I actually liked the brighter (colder) image better also. Not to mention, your entire character is going to have to be repainted if you put the sunlight behind him.
What I like, the change of making his mouth open, it’s very dramatic. But now the fur looks like it’s coming from his mouth.
The biggest issue here, IMO, is the blood. The bodies are fine the way they are, that’s pretty cool. But the blood looks like you painted it on a flat canvas. It has no form, it doesn’t seem to wrap around most of your objects. It looks okay on the beast, but on the snow, and especially at the bottom center of the pic, it looks really fake.
Other thoughts, For someone who has never seen ice, you are doing okay on the background. And the composition is good as well. You only have some touble spots to work on, but you already have a good piece.
Here’s an update.
Changed everything in background.
Rebuiding the blood layer (not shown)
Finished the body, but still work in the head.
Still working on orcs bodies as well.
Please, c&c welcomed
dmcgrath,
thanks for replying

I really think you are doing well here, Bruzn. But! Now you moved the light source to behind him, and it gave him a really good glow outline on the fur. You still need to add the glow to the blue fur a little bit though.
And where are the shadows? His whole front body is now going to have to be in shadow.
Plus the cast shadow on the ground is missing.
You are getting there!![]()
WOW Bruzun! nice work and development. I think you should go back to one of the previous skies, this current one lacks some of the previous drama. If you keep it though I think I’d agree with dmcgrath. Great work! As for where is everybody? I don’t know about the others but they made this challenge to long and I haven’t updated for a bit because of other work. But I’ll be finishing my piece in time.
Keep it up dude!
:buttrock:
You’ve made some great improvements since I saw this last. Great job on defining the legs/boots. The corpses could still use some work to be integrated into the scene…a few of them look like they are floating off the ground, but I’m sure you’re already aware of that. I like the creatures mouth open…makes him look more intense. The blood on the forearms looks great…Looking forward to an update/finished piece:beer:
