Not my entire nickname because I do not like it anymore (any moderator could please do me a favor? hehe)

So let’s start. Sorry for not having a sketch YET, but I have the entire history thou.

“The legends are almost forgotten…
in the highest mountains of the middle earth. Where the winds cuts like a knife and no life form has the guts to go to.
There, where the ice is so white that reflects everything, where the montains are so high that you can almost touch the sky…
there lives the Helkars, a race of snow beasts. The only creatures that survives in that apocaliptic scene…”

Well terrible huh? Sorry for my bad english, again and again and again, hehe

I was thinking about creating some snow creatures, with entire body covered by white hair, and some others things that I don’t know the name :annoyed: but is in my mind.

Tomorrow I’ll put my first sketch.

besides,
if somebody is asking “why a snow beast? why not other interesting thing?”
well, answering:
because of the snow…
beatiful landscapes can be created with all that white uh?
and only one snow mountain scene in the film
and NO creatures there
so, why not?

he look like he would freeze, i was thinking, if he survived up there and had some form of intelligence, wouldnt he use other animals skins?

hello alice,

his name is Helkar, means ‘cold from south pole’ in elfian.
His not ‘intelligent’, but smalest enough to not participate in all that ring battle, hehe

Nice stuff. I think you should almost make him shaggier, since he lives in the snow. Or fatter or something. I like it.:beer:

MY thoughts are: If ya really wanna change anythig, just change the background,… please do not touch him… he´s great.

Or ya start with the colors from the start, that helps me often to like my concepts after.

Some minor updates.

Trying to fix what I did not like:deleted Mordor from the scene; changed the montains position so as to look better and more organized. Some problems with the trees, but I’ll try to fix it. Started making the overall painting of the beast.

Still tooooooo clean

Hate this in my work.

Love all that noise of Frank Frazetta or even Bisley works.
Need some kind of ‘cool noise’ plugin

Trying to give him a hairy look, hated that ‘smoothed’ one above.

Desaturated some colours and included some red.

Nice work dude! Do you ever do matte painting? Looks like it. Awesome. You guys that complain about clean artwork… if I could only STAY clean and less loose.
