Quick remapping on model with added resolution (Maya 2013)


Hello. I have a model of a dog that came with texture. My intention is to use this dog for a little animation clip. Model is good but low-poly. I smoothed mesh and found out that texture now plagued by “holes” - smudged black spots all over the place. I take it those are on added polygons.

Question is wether ther is any way to make make Maya reapply old UV mapping within same geometry border but include new polygons as well without need to create UV map from scratch?


When you do your smoothing, there’s an option box for whether you want to smooth UVs or not. If you unclick that and redo your smoothing, you shouldn’t have that problem.
