I was wondering if Unreal 2 comes with a game level editor?
I want to make a mod and was wanting to know if its possible to make a 3rd person view with the Unreal 2 engine and if I need programming skills.

yes and yes…youll need alot of programming skills or someone to help you…although i would use the ut2003 engine…itll be easier to test out your levels rather thatn slogging through unreal 2…and port your levels over to unreal to when your happy with em…it may be a bit easier to change stuff with it like the guns and camera angles…but im no expert…i:thumbsup:
Yes it comes with a level editor and there is a cheat that makes it 3rd person (it does not stay on restart, but it’s an option)
Cheat (each command on a seperate line)

Hope this helps although it’s not an actual fix
I recommend you to get either UT2003 or even better wait till UT2004 arrives in store shelves after Christmas…it will come with all the tools needed to get you started modding…it even comes with Maya PLE! Anyway, RPG style games are already being made with the UT2003…check this thread fior more information

I’m planning on making a total conversion mod, but wondering if there is any game engine that doesn’t require heavy duty programming. Something like Jedi Knight II, I hear Jk2 has its own scripting language which isn’t that hard to learn.

Unreal engine is object oriented…very easy to learn. uc script.somewhat like javascript…alot of the base code is just adjusted to suit your coding. For example, use the base code of the default assault rifle to create yours. Projectiles, effects, and so on are adjusted to implement your weapon.
Great news for all of you budding game hobbyists…
