Questions regarding Vue 6

#1

Hello, I have a few questions regarding Vue 6. I am currently using Wings 3d to create my models. However, I would like to start putting these models into scenes. I don’t want to heavily relie on the premade objects in vue, but rather use vue to set up my “own” objects in a scene, as well as for texturing, lighting, and rendering.

Now for the questions. First, do wings 3d models import ok into vue and is it possible to texture them? Second, I dont really plan on using vue to make generic landscape/scenery renders, is vue capable of more?

What are the big differences between Vue 6 Easel and Esprit? How does Vue 6 compare to Bryce 6?

Not sure what formats wings can save to, but Vue likes obj and 3Ds files. Once in Vue you can texture them however you want.

I would say Easel and Bryce are about the same level except the lighting and trees look better in Easel. Esprit is the “core” e-on product. You can do eco-systems, but can’t create your own. There are 5 modules available to expand Esprit’s capabilities. If you get all 5 modules, then you have Vue Pro Studio. From there, it’s one step away from Infinite, which in my opion, is the best software ever invented!

Can Vue do more than landscapes… Yes! I suggest taking a look at the Vue galleries at www.renderosity.com and http://www.cornucopia3d.com/.

Thanks for the reply. There is something else I want to ask. Say I wanted to add bones to a character with Blender. Would I be able to import that character into Vue Esprit and pose/animate the character within Vue? Or can Vue only pose/animate Poser models?

I’m pretty sure Vue can only import animations from Poser. But… I’m no expert on animation.
