Question: animated liquid spill in modo?

#1

Hi.
the title is pretty self descriptive: how can I make animated spill in modo?
The liquid volume is reacting with surfaces and breaks into drops.
I want to make sure I pass the right answer: Is it possible to pull this out right from modo or I need realflow or maya liquids?

Thanks

Since no simulation of particles is possible in Modo you can’t animate a liquid spill there directly. You will have to do this in Realflow. Modo can import Realflow data (-> http://www.luxology.com/tv/training/view.aspx?id=614 ), I can’t tell you how this works exactly though. I have never used this feature.

thanks. I never used realflow, so probably I will go with maya liquids > alembic > modo, or something like that.

You will not be able to import Maya liquids into Modo. As of version 601, Modo supports the import of Realflow data, thats it.

You can, of course, render the surfaces in Modo, animate the spill in Maya, and then combine both elements in a compositing program afterwards.
