question about UV Mapping

(just fyi, i haven’t updated to the new release from 2 or 3 days ago yet.)

i’m messing around with the UV mapping function for the first time, and i keep running into an error. “Numeric Problem.”

i would assume that the AUV Chart that is selected immediately after the error message would be the problem area, but i don’t know what the error means. so there isn’t much i can fix.

any elucidation would be tremendously appreciated. (there, i used big words at least once today. the scary thing is i didn’t even try to come up with elucidate. it just happened. i can go to sleep now.)

for reference here’s a small screen of what i see in the UV window. if you can’t read it, there are 30 faces selected.

i haven’t had a chance to try them yet, but after some sleep, i found a few more threads on UV mapping.

i gotta go mow the lawn, and then i’ll get a chance to play around with it some more.

i’m curious if things will still function the same tho. does anyone know?
