question about ground

#1

If I want to create ground for my character to stand on, am I better just bringing in a polygon or is there another way?

Also, if I was to create armatures to control my character, could I use them on another. It’s basically the exact same model, just modeled some hair.

Cheers,
Malcolm

There should already be a “ground” in your scene. If its not showing up then go to Render, Surfaces, and turn on the Ground Surface.

I don’t really know all that much about Armatures. Sorry.

just replace the object! go to file tab and replace. the idea is to save as a new scene, this keeps all your setup stuff, then replace model. easy !

I prefer a model for the floor or a primitive, something i can adjust more readily. I wish there waas a tangible (ie selectable and moveable) representation of the background/floor shaders. same goes for the environment, just grab resize and see the effects of your changes in the 3D viewport. With different shapes, sphere, cube plane, etc.
