Howdy from Austin everyone!:bounce:
Ive been at CGTalk for a couple of years now, so some of you may already know me. The rest of you will just have to learn to love me in time sigh
Basically I design machinery in SolidWorks or AutoCAD and then I ājazzā them up in 3ds Max. Do you know how hard it is to ājazzā up a piece of conveyor? The urge to render lens flares is a CONSTANT battle
For the past 2 years I have been working on perfecting a low poly/ textured method of modelling complete factories and plant layouts (several hundred feet of conveyor) for animation. It sounds easy in theory, but the sheer size of the renders and the fact that I usually have 2 days MAXIMUM to model and render means that I have to be lithe and nimble.
I suppose I could give random facts about me, but noone is really interested to know that I can eat a box of Lil Debbieās FASTER than a pirrahna can skin a cow or that I can smoke a cigar and ride a Harley at the same time ( can you say red hot ashes?)
So there ya have it brothers and sisters. I look forward to seeing you all on the CG battlefield.
-Dave
