Que Pasa everybody?!

Howdy from Austin everyone!:bounce:

Ive been at CGTalk for a couple of years now, so some of you may already know me. The rest of you will just have to learn to love me in time sigh

Basically I design machinery in SolidWorks or AutoCAD and then I ā€œjazzā€ them up in 3ds Max. Do you know how hard it is to ā€œjazzā€ up a piece of conveyor? The urge to render lens flares is a CONSTANT battle

For the past 2 years I have been working on perfecting a low poly/ textured method of modelling complete factories and plant layouts (several hundred feet of conveyor) for animation. It sounds easy in theory, but the sheer size of the renders and the fact that I usually have 2 days MAXIMUM to model and render means that I have to be lithe and nimble.

I suppose I could give random facts about me, but noone is really interested to know that I can eat a box of Lil Debbie’s FASTER than a pirrahna can skin a cow or that I can smoke a cigar and ride a Harley at the same time ( can you say red hot ashes?)

So there ya have it brothers and sisters. I look forward to seeing you all on the CG battlefield.

Tex! What up home slice!

When all else fails, add edge rays and/or bullet time.

Would actually be really great to see an Mtv buzz cut Uwe Boll style trailer for the flow diagram on a parts washer. :stuck_out_tongue:

DOnt laugh dude… The day I started rendering in ā€œwidescreenā€ (16:9) I thought my boss was gonna kiss me smack dab in the mouth!

It’s not as fancy shmancy as modelling Orcs or working on games, but I do get to mess around with Video Editing stuff as well (on THEIR money of course).

Hi Tex. I see you are a nice guy, and you have an interesting job on 3D.
Do you have a gallery to share? I would love to see it.
I’m new to 3D, but I’m starting to love a lot metals and reflections

I’m mexican by the way, living at Vancouver. CS Engineer with a great desire in going into CG. I’m just happier with CG.

Hey Tex, good to see you’re part of the cult as well! Although, I kinda knew you’d be here, you’re always popping up where plots to take over the (CG)world are made
