Quadro2000 Open GL problem !

#1

Hi

Does anyone knows how to make After Effects CS5 work fine with Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics. It doesn’t recognize any Open GL abilities. and the performance in just one effect of particulars, is not so good… it takes a long time to preview a frame.
I´ve donwloaded some drivers drom nvidia site. but i can´t find one exactely for AE Cs5 and Open GL.

Thanks in advance

I doubt I can help much because I have never used on of the quadros with after effects (I generally just grab a medium-highrange gaming card and that works fine for me, but thats because I don’t do fancy 3D or AutoCAD stuff)

I can say however that I tend to avoid OpenGL out of principle. It causes AE to crash more often, and it introduces artifacts into previews and renders. It’s a bummer if it’s interfering with plugins, but for standard previews I prefer to just stick to adaptive resolution.

Seconded. Simply turn off OpenGL. And you are misunderstanding - even if OpenGL works, it only accelerates specific effects and features, not everything per se. In your case calculating the positions and lifespan properties takes longer than rendering them, anyways, so Particular or whatever particle system you may be using being slow is perfectly normal and to be expected.
