Running into a snag here with Alembic files from a sim.
The sim needs to have a bump map on top, but due to the Alembic sequence just adding a UV map is not possible. The next Alembic will just shuffle the UV’s into a mess.
So it would be awesome if you could ‘borrow’ the UV/texture set from another object.
e.g. A flat Alembic sim object uses the UV/texture from a basic ‘static’ plane.
There’s lots of option to move UV around, but not linking UV’s from another mesh it seems.
Or is the only option to get back to the sim, and add Uv’s there? Maya 2019.2/Vray.
