Yeah I’ve heard this! I am using the Trial for 11 and will most likely subscribe but haven’t tried Ptex so am not even sure if it is already included- I hope so- I know Vector Paint is.

Cool! I haven’t tried mudbox or any other sculpting software (sculptris) yet. But hearing about this PTex thing and especially that Pixar uses it (Pixar’s my entire reason for getting into CG) I think I may have to try it.

I have so much software already my computer must hate me though haha.

Edit: Need new graphics card to run mudbox :cry:

Presentation had interesting information. Seems to like sort of a little game changer. Being able to worry no more about Unwraping UVs sounds cool.

Well, still seems like we’re a ways off from UV freedom but I would enjoy it- UVs are a pain and effect your inspiration or mood. Unless you’re a nut that loves doing them- you probably ENJOY folding laundry too.

dneg used ptex stuff in inception… but i think this was all custom inhouse stuff no mudbox…
