promotional artwork for a non existing video game

#1

Hi guys, would annyone mind giving some feedback to these sketches regarding pose and composition? Im trying to get that dynamic feel of movement and action, kind of like those league of Legends splash art images that really sell the characters. Theyre all about 20% done, the focus being on composition and pose first. after that attention will be paid to perspective, values and light, anatomy, cool designs, color and some typography. I am going for a stylised feel here with limited values and exaggerated action, almost cartoony.

These images will be part of a series that will function as promotional artwork for a non existing video game. This video game will play like an action brawler game where multiple players will fight against robots as different characters.
the main gimmick of the game will be the ability to empower weapons by plugging in various power up items into the sockets on the weapons themselves.

Im struggling with making the poses look dynamic and energetic, while still having poses that justify some kind of a real action like dashing, lunging, swinging a weapon, although exaggerated.

I am also trying to give the viewer a feel, at a glance, of what the game will be like and what the player can expect. Why you should get this game basically.

overall tone and ´´vibe´´ of the final series of images will hopely be one that is energetic, enthousiastic, and not too serious and also slightly playfull, like it is self aware of its own over the topness and tropes used.

I Hope that this is enough information for you all to give some feedback!

Harry

Your poses are all a level below the most dynamic and extreme they could be. It’s almost as if they are all a frame or two before that money-shot keyframe of the most dynamic pose in a sequence of animation frames. So simply take all of them and push them one more level to the extreme so the limbs are raised higher, hands are pulled back further, feet raise higher, shoulders raised more, torsos more contorted, heads more tilted, etc.
