I am pleased to anounce that I’m in the pre-production stages of turning Ted McKeever’s short graphic story, ‘A Life Less Ordinary’ into a 3D animation. It tell’s the story of Tiera who was offered the opportunity to find out the truth, and the answer to the question, ‘what is the matrix?’ However, instead of choosing freedom and accepting the red pill she chooses the blue pill. Her regrets are a thousand fold and now she lives a life of irrevocable of self-persecution and self-doubt at her own cowardice.
The original drawings show a decaying and gritty world, something feels very intrinsically real about them, and this will be reflected in the animation, with all the models being high-poly and the textures high resolution (1024x768). The animation will not be mocap based however it will be based on the movements of real people. The animation will have a running time of 6-8 minutes and will be rendered in three versions, at 800x600 and 1024x768 respectively, and the other at 1920 x 1080 (high definition), as this will allow for greater distribution range and I’m pretty sure it will be the only project at Ravensbourne 3D to be produced with high-def in mind.
If anyone is interested in helping on this project I’m only interested in people who are committed and professional. I’m looking for an experienced animator and rigger above all else.
