Hi All
I have encountered an extremely strange and weird bug in Maya 2016 (I have all the service packs and everything)
So anyway the bug I’ve encountered is this: I’ve been building my own character rig for a while now, I’ve skinned it, painted all the weights as best I could, did blend shapes etc and on to building a facial animation control panel. However when I opened the same file today, suddenly my model isn’t bound to the skeleton and animation controls and the blend shapes I made have disappeared from the blend shape editor window (All the physical blend shapes are still in my scene however on a separate layer, the actual controls have disappeared)
Strangely enough however my joints are still colored as if they are still skinned to the geometry and it won’t allow me to unbind skin or bind it again, but when I move the animation controls and joints the geometry doesn’t follow. But it was working perfectly the last time I opened it and I know I didn’t do anything to corrupt the file or anything that would cause this to happen. I deleted history and froze transformations right through out it’s production.
Is their anyone who has experienced a similar problem in Maya and is there perhaps a solution of some kind?
