problems with image urls

There seem to be some troubles lately with linking images. When people click on the URLs, messages appear like “not found”, “forbidden”, etc. But the very same URL does work when pasting it into the address bar of a new window.

Posting with IMG tags does work as usual.

The problem seems to be new. Some URLs do work, some don’t. It forces people to paste the reference pictures into the posts, which isn’t ideal concerning copyright.

That’s not a problem with us, that’s a problem with the server where the image is hosted. It looks like they don’t allow hotlinking.

Sounds logical, but what i don’t understand, why the same image appears in a post when i’m linking it with an IMG tag.
(which i did try first successfully with above first URL)

Confusing a bit, but thanks anyway for the quick reply :slight_smile:
