Problems in Blender 2.6 (Mac)

#1

Hey, I just downloaded the latest version of Blender for Mac, Blender 2.6.
It seems quite different from the last version I had, which I may have downloaded up to a year ago… I am having several embarrassing problems, and they’re pathetically simple:

• In the previous version of Blender, in Object mode, you could command-click an object to select it. This no longer works, so how does one select an object now?
• I want to put a texture on only one plane of an object, with no bump maps nor ANYTHING special, just a texture. I’ve been searching for how to do this for a while now and everyone’s texture tutorials are about UV stuff and all this fancy business I care nothing about. How do I texture one plane of an object?
• When I enter fly navigation, I’m no longer able to move around by pressing the plus and minus keys. Now it says I need to press numpad-+ and numpad–, but that’s impossible since I am on a laptop. Is there a way to fly around without reconfiguring my keyboard?
• I am no longer able to select the active camera while viewing with it.

I’d really appreciate someone explaining all these weird differences… Thanks people!
