Hi,
I have been trying out Painter 11 using my Wacom Intuos 3 (A4), and have found that it doesn’t seem to produce smooth strokes when compared to Painter X. Selecting just the Scratchboard tool, if I try large sweeping strokes they seem to be staggered straight lines rather than one smooth line. Things can be improved by turning up the number of interpolations setting for the stroke, but having to turn all brushes interpolation up to 5 doesn’t seem correct.
It doesn’t seem to make any difference if Brush Ghosting is on or not. Another thing I don’t like about the new brush ghosting is when a brush with Rake selected the ghosting turns into an elongated bursh shape with straight edges and semi-circular end caps, which spins round according to the brush orientation. With this setting it is extremely difficult to judge where the actual stroke will start. It was much better with Painter X’s circular brush ghosting as the centre of the circle can naturally be judged, and thus the start of the stroke.
I am also getting problems with the tail end of strokes shooting off to the left once again. I have seen this before on earlier painter versions, but a quick brush stroke recalibration used to sort that out. It doesn’t seem to solve it completely with Painter 11.
I hope problems such as these, and other that people have brought up, get sorted out quickly.
Regards,
Phd.
