I chose to to the War General and the Shadow. This is my early sketch. I know I only have a few days left but I have been out of computer access for several weeks, so here goes! I will post updates as I go, but for now if anyone sees anything that could help me improve DON’T HESITATE TO CRITIQUE ME! :smiley:

Drew several composition. General and mages are the same team .
I want to show momentum, and can fully display the design of characters, so as

to make reference to 3d.
I think that Perspective view or action too big may keep out some structure and design, it is

unfavorable to show the design of characters.^^

young general comes from a high ranking noble family.The young man has been trying so hard to prove he is not just"someone’s son" .Now, before the potential “great war”,he and his lieutenant are investigating frontier of the territory…by the way,just now,they decided to have offspring once the end of the war…

So I posted my first WIP last night but it doesn’t seem to be appearing… so here is my next WIP. Its a War General about to be assassinated by a Shadow. Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

@HuiTian: All 4 have their own strong points, but the first things that came to mind when I saw them were as follows;

top-left: clean with a classic movie poster feel to it.
top-right: iconic. Has a Frazetta-ish quality to it.
bottom-left: more dynamic. Feels like certain comic book covers.
bottom-right: iconic and clean. Feels like they’re posing.

Not sure which direction you want to take it, but hope it helps!

Here’s a quick value marker sketch. I’d love to know what people think, not always confident with my values. Technomage coming up.

Imo, there isn’t enough contrast, could still use some darker values.
The highlights are too big, too much white coming from the right, perhaps you could darken the legs area and give it smaller highlights compared to the face, that way the focus will be around the face area.

Just my 2 cents.
