powder fx

Hey guys
I am pretty new to fx. i am trying to get something that is similar to the blue powder at the start of the first video link. and the explosion simulation in the second video link. simulation and rendering both. simulation behavior is really interesting as it is clumpy at the start and then it breaks into small fine particles also rendering it like a fine powder is also a problem. Mental ray renders are very blurry.

I’d say particle instancer for the big chunks, software cloud particles for smaller and particle emission into a fluids node for the fine dust.
