Potential bug? losing highest SubDivision density after creating UVs?

#1

Has anyone encountered this?
I am working on a very high poly model which is about 65 Million polys. I have 8 subdivisions

So I discovered that I forgot to create my UVs. So I go to UV master, create UVs on a clone, then paste these UVs on my lowest subdivision.
Now once I reach my 7th subdivision the polugons are around 16million. But once I shift to my highest Subdivision, it also shows the same polygons and my total Points from 65Mil are 16Mil in both 7th and 8th Subdivision.

What is going on??

woah that sounds weird…
when in doubt, I tend to remesh on a duplicate so I have a fresh layer, UV real quick, SubDivide, then reproject the High level (the Geometry before it started bugging out, hopefully you saved a version) details back on.
The new Zbrush seems to have few buggy issues and sometimes, you just got to figure out a way to just work around it. But if you happened to figure out what the issue was, let us know !

This is what I tried to do but I also I have another problem. Zbrush crashes when I am trying to reproject :frowning:
I have no idea why

when your at the highest subd try (dell lower)
then keep pressing (reconstruct subdiv) and see if it comes back to 8 subd
