This is good, but I wish he’d explain more of his thought process - I need to understand how to analyze an all-quad model and figure out how to add detail.

I don’t know if I come too late.
Just one video.
For max modeling.Mouse, nose and eyes modeling.(half face, almost full)

anyone got a tut on how to model a gun?

There was one posted here on CGTalk a few months back that went into modeling a gun in great detail. Can’t seem to find it now, but I know it came through here. Try a search.

hey everyone I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials for character patch modeling in maya. I know I’m a little crazy to be doing a patch model instead of a poly model but I’ve been wanting to give a try on a really serious patch model for some time. I having a few issues with a couple areas and wondering if anyone knows of any good tutorials.

It’s a so good place.I learn more about the modelling. Thanks

I seem to have been erm, absent from class this day, but how do you know when to model in Nurbs, polys or sub-ds?

I can model just fine in any of them, but I can’t understand how each affects the outcome. I want to model say - a character that animates in a short. I want to use very fine textures and set it up for voice-sync later on.

If anyone knows of not only good links, but also good books, dvds, courses, please post. I think maybe what I’m talking about is the pipeline of animation. The ability to understand how each stage affects the results is very important to me and with Maya being such an insane beast to conquer, I am constantly running into brick walls.

I’m also posting for the first time, so please forgive me if this has already been answered.
