Polygon Hair and transparency

Which is cheaper,…Hairspray or Shave and Haircut?

Everybody has been saying that they have been waiting for hairspray for ages…but using the method above, it seems that the solution was already here.

Use Shave for the hair style,…render with Sasquatch.

Is that possible?

But if shave is more expensive than hairspray,…or no longer available,…I’ve made a pointless suggestion:hmm:

the last time it was available for sale for LW it cost 449$ i believe.

someone has already made a tutorial for using shave to generate SAS guide hairs.

through that together really quick, no collision on the ball and I didnt preview the motion… but still quite cool.

That’s very cool Mike. You always come up with the extra clever looking techniques. Thanks for taking the time with all those shots!

That is very cool! Are the dynamics Shave? If I recall, don’t you have to do some kind of motion export to move the guide hairs?

Good Stuff Mike.

Pretty cool, I got to try that out. I have a couple questions for ya though. How did you get the four objects to be slightly different? Did you mess with the guide chains or mess with the settings? And did you export hair strands, or did you make your own object and export instances (to have better control of segmentation)?

Shave exports 1 object per pass/depth

hrgiger: theres no motion export, you just run a regular LW preview once your happy with your animation. The guides take thier motion from the movememnt of the object’s verticies in the scene (works with keyframed translation, morphs, bones, displacements…)
