'poly/edge/point' when ctrl+shift hovering over mesh - how to get rid of that?

#1

Hello!
When I have Lasso masking selected, and I want to select visibility of polygroups by ctrl+shift clicking them, I get kind of a ‘primitive selection mode’, with a red line pointing to either a point/edge/poly im hovering over. This sometimes bypasses the polygroup and isolated visibility of a single polygon.
Is there any way to disable this mode, other than selecting a different mask tool?

Thanks a lot

Can you provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing? It sounds like you have the ZModeler brush selected. This shouldn’t be a problem though. As soon as you press and hold ctrl & shfit, you shouldn’t see those red lines.

Yes. I was wrong before: Its when I choose the select lasso tool, that this happens. Not related to the masking tool.

I don’t think there’s anything you can do about that. This issue was addressed at “Ask ZBrush” and the answer was to switch to select rectangle. Here’s the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSea806_AXM
