Hey Tombery.
Thanks for the encouragement. Just a midway slump I think, but past it now and did more work last night. Will post new grabs of WIP in a bit. :]
Hey Tombery.

Great work really nice modeling.
Would love to see it with a marble material rendered with an IBL it’ll look amazing.
Hey Meglatura
Thanks! That is exactly the plan. I just need to get through the sculpting as some parts are still really rough… I feel I am about half way now.
Any way, here is some latest progress:
Hi all
Apmed - Yes, I may just do that! They are so expensive though…
Anyhow, a little update. Pushed a crunched decimated version of the model into a quick render test to see what would happen. Very early on, but nice to see what may happen eventually.
Enough fooling around. Back to sculpting!
Beautiful work. Let the results themselves inspire you to finish! But I do hear you though, sometimes finding that extra push to finish can be tough, but I always try to think of the joy I feel when i finally finish a piece and am happy with it.
One thing that stands out for me though: the expressions on the characters seem a little lifeless. That pissed off look on Hades’s face, and the utter despair on Persephone’s.
Although it’s hard to tell from you small images. Just a feeling I got. Also, it appears that your Hades is looking forwards when originally he is stealing a sideways glance.
Great work. Keep going.
Hey Musashidan
You pretty much nailed it. I have not spent enought time on the faces and it shows. They are nowhere as nice as the origional and I need to fix that.
Been concentrating on getting alot of the big stuff done, and then detailing will be next. Fixing faces, hands and feet. Getting real tension and emotion in there is next up.
I am also considering stepping back a bit and adjusting posing to get something a little more dynamic as I feel it is still a bit stiff overall.
Will try get all this done for next update.
Hi all.
Got waylaind by work and things, but managed to spend a little more time on this sculpting.
Also pushed a fast decimated version onto VRAY to see how it looked.

Unfortunately lost alot of the sculpt detail due to not having any displacements or bump. Will add those later. Also no decent shader yet or marble texture. Still have to make those.
So, will continue adding detail in sculpt and refining shapes as a lot is still rough and unfinished.
Nice to get an idea of what end result will look like tho.
Please add any thoughts
Ah! Great to see you working on this again. Latest renders look great. If you’re worried about losing too much detail from decimation then don’t overdo it. Max these days can deal with 10’s of millions of polys, which also won’t be a problem for Vray.(or use a VRProxy) You could nearly bring it in undecimated.
Looking forward to more.
Hey musashidan :]
Yup, now I have some more time I will keep on pushing on this. Adding detail now, massaging poses and hopefully getting the final disp and bump across. Plus a texture and shader! lol
Onward!
Hi all.
Latest progress, found some time to work in details and adjust posing a bit more.
Fabric and cerberus are needing attention, they are next on the list to sort out. Then it is begining to isolate each part of the sculpture such as hands / feet / heads and getting a good level of polish in.
Need to start adding fat and skin over muscles now as things are a little hyper muscled atm.
Then final detailing and really making sure all looks as perfect as I can get it.
Anyhow, current screengrabs from ZB:

Any comments most welcome.
You really have done a wonderful job of capturing this very complex piece.
I realise you havn’t done your final polish/fat pass yet, but the lower part of Pluto’s back looks unusual at the moment. (where the spinal erectors/posterior iliac crest/obliques/lat dorsi converge)
Also, apart from HOURS of sculpting:) could you talk a bit about your method of creating the hair/beard? It’s very impressive.(or even a closeup image)
Cheers. Look forward to more.
Hey Musashidan
Yep, that base of back area is a knowledge gap it seems for me. It is a weird combo of muscle, fat, and the lower lumbar spinal bones. Will need to redo a bit and get a better result. Weirdly enough those shapes are in the original, I just think they are better executed / more believable.
For the hair there is no tricks really, just sculpting away into the form with brushes like Dam standard and Slash3. It looks a bit rougher close up, but after dealing with issues (Like the back) I will be making sure most areas work close up too.
Thanks for your eyes, working on this with so much detail, I can feel I often miss obvious stuff without another point of view.
Still working on details. Had to redo some muscle layouts as they where a bit squiff when I looked at anatomy books.
Will cary on detailing

Minor update. Generally very busy, so get to it when I can. Detailing (Still need to do more) adding skin and fat where I can. Redoing wrong muscle and tendon layouts.
Update:
Cheers!
Found some more time to work on this.
Getting close to done. A few more sculpt tweaks needed : Plutos obliques look wierd and Persephones chest area still looks bad. Maybe some more work on feet.
Moving onto first render tests in vray, time to do some lighting lookdev X)
Some updates:
Getting close to finished. Need to add a little bit more fat and flesh to Pluto. Mainly shader and lighting tweaks left.
S
I think I am finally done!
Will do some rotation renders now and cleanup
Thanks to those who fed back and helped me finish this up!
