pleetes...

Hi guys im trying to make a skirt like hakama garment… the problem isthey have a series of strong pleetes and creeses on the front… like this

is this possible in syflex. ?

Yes;
Use the ‘Sew’ function, and 'Magnet’s if necessary (to constrain rows of verts towards themselves) and maybe a ‘Mimic’ as a base shape controller :wink:

EDIT:
You could of course throw the whole lot into a wrap-deformer instead…

I’ve done some pleetes in the past and found they they are pretty tricky…

I would suggeest adding detail for syflex to be able to crease… ie if you do like the attached image, syflex will create pteetes by default. this eliminates any need for (the sketchy) sew function.

as far as wraps go, you will not get natural movement… ie the open/closing of the pleats… it will look like a dirty cheat… same with magnet…

oh okay ^^ im nearly on the modellign the skirt stage so i will definatly give that try first does sound significantly easier :slight_smile: i looked into the other option with sew and magnets… does look tricky but certainly possible
