Please Urgent help with OS X 10.5.1

#1

Hi, yesterday I received my new Mac Octa-Core Intel Xeon, but EIAS 7.0 and 7.0.1 does not work, I have not managed to open it even once.

I was hours trying to fix it with Matt Hoffman from Eitechnologygroup, we were not able to fix it.

Im still running EIAS 7.0.1 on my MacBook Pro without problems.

We have an urgent work to deliver,

Please any suggestions are welcome, I will be all day devoted to solving this problem.

Cheers
Diego

Check there are no ā€˜illegal’ characters in the hard drive name (like Ć© or Ā™ etc).

I am trying to upgrade to 10.5.2 like Alberto…

I have 3 hard drives but with legal character, Macintosh HD, HD 1, HD 2

I can’t figure out what is causing this.

Okay try:

  1. Move the EIAS application folder to another HD and try again
  2. Get info on EIAS application folder and make sure ā€˜read/ write’ is chosen and click ā€œapply to enclosing itemsā€

Thinking… (I have a similar error myself, I can’t remember the cure…yet…).

Hi,

When I move the application to another folder EIAS can read EI Resources ā€œIconBody_Cameraā€ but the application close inmediately.

And ā€˜read/ write’ permissions are ok. apply to enclosing items too.

Sorry, double post.

I have updated the system to 10.5.2 but the problem persists. all ways displays this message that nobody knows what it means:

Cinema4D + Vray works ok in the same coputer…

#9

i got the ā€œicon body errorā€ after my initial install/set-up on an older 8-core. when i was making slave folders, i dragged the resources folder from the EIAS folder instead of copying and pasting it. when i made a copy and moved it back into the EIAS folder, it stopped giving me that error.

Solved!

I have installed the operating system from 0 and working.

Probably something to do with the way my Mac dealer configured and initialized my hard drives.

Thank you very much for all your help.
